Summer 2011 begins - Watermelon Salad
I seriously do not understand the underestimation of fruits. Why are they so proudly eaten only for desserts. Why not for appetizers or in a side dish? When a tomato claims its place in all soups and gravies, what about other fruits. I am putting myself on a mission to make it possible for everyone to use fruits as a part of our everyday lives, as in the main dinner plate. Watermelon being watery, is a fruit, I believe all Chefs (do Chefs really cook? maybe I rephrase it to all 'Cooks'!) are scarred of because of its watery properties and almost negligible flavour. However, the truth is that when watermelon is paired with spices and herbs, it enhances the natural tastes of the melon. So, having said that I was on the look for a watermelon salad pairing, when I came across this amazing salad.
