While in India, eating chicken at home on Sundays would mean Chicken Curry. My mother and the rest of the extended family on both sides (meaning Maternal and Paternal), would make blind folded Chicken curries on Sundays. It was such a routine for years and years, that the new generation has reached its saturation point. I have a terrible nausea of chicken curries now in my 30s. (My mother still makes chicken curry on sundays, with the same masala, and refuses to abandon it at ay cost). So, thanks to my life a little away from my beloved families, and above all our little toddler who loves Chicken, Parmesan Chicken was the solution to my boredom. It is something I can never ever go wrong with and I can make plenty and plenty of servings of it. I guess a dish that the cook herself loves (no no darling, I am not a feminist!!!), always comes out the best. Crispy, golden brown crust on the outside and moist chicken on the inside, is what makes it so delectable. Time and...
It all begins today April 06th 2011, after putting down my little toddler for a late afternoon nap, that I have posted my first ad on an online website. Its all about offering food and satisfying the individual palate. I believe its high time I get into the market and put myself down for a foody test. Currently I am doing it from my very own homely kitchen and offering everyday individual and family meals to all those tired of eating out of their own cook houses. By the way, eating fancy restaurant food will only reduce your lifespan and you dnt know how long those gravies have been sitting in the freezer, I know it! Call me atleast 24 hrs in advance for a meal, no matter lunch or dinner and I will be happy to get the homely food boxes ready for ...
Happy Holi!!! Puran Poli Honestly, I was in a 'blogging boredom', maybe it was the weather...or..maybe not, not very certain. But atleast till next boredom season strikes, I do have plenty to write about, a resolution I have made to myself. Holi Haiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!! Ok, so this year too as the tradition goes, I did make a few Puran Polis/Bobatloo..or whatever each one calls it in their region. However, just a day before I realised that we dnt have much Chana Dal (just a couple of table spoons). So I did some research on mixing it with Tuar Dal. I found out that people make it with either of the dals, no mix and match. This all the more gave me some motivation to trying mixing them both and see what happens (yeah, watch too many Curious George with my son). The Puran Poli results were the same like every year. I did not find much difference in taste, ultimately it tasted the same with a stuffing of cooked dal, jaggery, nutmeg powder and cardomom powder stuffed i...
